A wonderful turnout from many Primary Schools all across the Lewisham borough took part in this fun and competitive annual competition.
Most of the youngsters are coached at school by one of BOEHC's Junior Coaches Sam Djavit who visits schools all over the area coaching hockey to Yr 5 & 6. The schools played six a side, 8 minute games, with 3 boys and 3 girls in each team at all times.
There was some wonderful hockey on show with the emphasising on passing and moving - barely a struck ball was played. Skills and speed abounded.
Great performances from Brindishe Primary and rthe ever present Kilmorie but this year's comeptition was won by Rathfern Primary School who beat Kelvin Grove in the final on penalty strokes. Rathfern actually won the very first of these competitions 16 yeras ago so the trophy returns there for this year.
The wonderful event was led by Sam Djavit with Umpires and helpers consisting of BOEHC Chairman Matt Wilde, BOEHC President David Maltman and Youth members Matt Soames, Charlie Nelson and Adam Buckle. Thanks to the multitude of parents who also turned up to cheer on their kid - it was a great atmosphere.
Congratultions to all players and we hope to see you again at our Summer Camp in August (19th to 22nd) and at Junior Coaching which begins again on 8th September. See Events and Junior sections of the website.
