Having reached the outer rim for Google Maps, BEs were gagging to engage CV, after a plucky yet futile return match last season, with only eight players. The fans (Mr & Mrs Leah) were not disappointed, Claire was livid and Charlotte’s pinky, truly swollen. For BEs just played sublime hockey. The kind that makes you weep…even the next day. For despite some of the official decisions, rightly lighting Claire’s fuse so brightly and fanning Nu’s bruiser tendencies, BEs maintained a high-octane performance of fitness, desire, skill and goals. Everyone put in an amazing performance that should have assured a win as first one goal was defended, then two goals. But a local mist descended to add to a mix that assured a local draw.
Player of the Match went to Anna for her two amazing goals (demonstrating her ability at penalty flicks) and her stick skills being on the cusp of several fines. Wally of the Match went to Claire’s effort at self-control under extreme provocation.
Blackheath score 2-2.
